Celebrating all nurses and midwives

We reckon the achievements of all nurses and midwives are worth celebrating. Thank you for everything you have and will do to care for and support others. We hope you take a moment to acknowledge your achievements.

When we launched in 2017, we didn’t envisage we would be living and working through the heartbreak and challenges of a once in a 100-year pandemic. It has been a privilege to hear your stories and provide you with person centred support, referral pathways and resources.

We remember and honour the nurses and midwives who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and died from COVID-19. Vale Jill Dempsey. Jill will be remembered for her compassion and warmth she showed her colleagues and patients working in the Emergency Department at the Angliss Hospital, Eastern Health Victoria.

It has never been more important for you to make your health and wellbeing a priority. We encourage you to adopt our mantra: Your Health Matters.

Good friends are there to support you, celebrate the highs and commiserate the lows. Nobody understands the stresses of the job like another nurse — and so we know that it is common for nurses to forge strong bonds with their peers and colleagues.

To celebrate the power and importance of these relationships we invite you to tell us your story of a special friendship with another nurse or midwife.
